Guitar

This is a page where I store my guitar-related things. Well, in the future, I hope that I can write and share my own composition here (at least my arrangement).

Only one sentence being a reason of this page. I Love Guitar.

Chasse, Opus 51

Napoleon Coste

This is a beautiful song! A drop D-tuning song telling a story about…hmm, actually I dont really know what it’s about. It sound like an opera, the short one (opus).

The mezo forte and piano indicates that there’s dialogue in this song, just like in opera.

This is my song when I firstly won the first winner on Classic Guitar Festival in Bogor, February 2002 (it’s been 6 years!).

Try to play it gently and imagining the opera stage, this song, Chasse is a perfect one!

Canarios

G. Sang

This is a spanish song, from an island of Spain, Canary Island. The melody and the beat reflects a bright shiny days of Canary Island.

I love this song because its spirit. The technique is more likely simple technique, but it should be played in a faster tempo. The notation contains two pages. Here they are: page 1 and page 2.

The Entertainer

Written by Scott Joplin

Arranged by Mickey S

This song is a piano rag written by Joplin in 1902 and published by John Stark & Son. It is one of his best-know work after his reputation raised nationally after his “Maple Leaf Rag”. The Entertainer was used as music theme for “The Sting”, an Oscar-winning film on 1973.

This notation is arranged by my teacher, Mr. Mickey, when I was studying at Yamaha Music, Bogor. He adapted this piano music into solo guitar composition, and it makes me love this song.

This song tells a story of a feeling of a guy who plays a role as an entertainer for his surroundings, friends, families, etc. This song reflects happiness and cheers that always brighten up any days faced, followed with smiles. Well, that’s what I feel when I play or listen this song.

So, here it is, The Entertainer notation, while the midi file (piano version) is here
